Summary: ECC Tools analyzes your repository's git history to generate skills. We don't store your code permanently, and we only access what's needed for analysis.
1. Information We Collect
When you install ECC Tools, we access:
- Repository metadata: Repository name, owner, default branch, language
- Git commit history: Commit messages, author names, dates, and file change summaries
- File samples: Limited code samples for pattern detection (not stored permanently)
- GitHub installation data: Installation ID, account type, permissions granted
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information to:
- Analyze coding patterns, conventions, and workflows in your repository
- Generate SKILL.md files and instincts for Claude Code
- Create pull requests with generated content
- Track usage for rate limiting purposes
3. Third-Party Services
ECC Tools uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API: For AI-powered pattern analysis. Commit data is sent to Claude for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- GitHub API: For accessing repository data and creating pull requests. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.
- Cloudflare: For hosting and CDN services. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
- Analysis results: Cached for up to 7 days to prevent duplicate processing
- Usage counts: Stored monthly for rate limiting, reset each billing cycle
- Code samples: Not stored permanently; processed in-memory during analysis
- Generated skills: Only exist in pull requests you choose to merge
5. Data Security
We implement security measures including:
- Webhook signature verification for all GitHub events
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Minimal data retention policies
- No permanent storage of source code
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Uninstall: Remove ECC Tools from your GitHub account at any time
- Access: Request information about data we've processed
- Deletion: Request deletion of any cached data
7. Children's Privacy
ECC Tools is not intended for use by individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
